The Ognibene symbol

Five bats, and a wish.

During one of his journeys to the East, Fausto Broggian came across a feng shui symbol: five red bats arranged around the character for longevity. In Chinese tradition each bat brings a blessing: health, peace, wealth, long life and a peaceful death. The design is placed in the reception rooms of houses so that it may attract all of them together.

He had it adapted and stylised until it became a unique form, light enough to enter a jewel.

Since then it has accompanied every creation of the maison. Sometimes it is in plain view, as an element of the design; sometimes it sits on the back of a setting, beneath the surface, where only the wearer of the jewel will find it. It is the maison's way of delivering a wish along with the object.
