THE BEGINNING: FAUSTO BROGGIAN’S VISION

The family's entrepreneurial adventure
Broggian began in the late 1950s, when Fausto Broggian founded, together with his brothers, the first company in Milan, specialized in the selection and marketing of diamonds.

His pioneering explorations take him to Burma, Afghanistan and Pakistan, in search of the rarest and most precious gems. His approach combines commercial acumen, a passion for beauty and a deep knowledge of the craft.

Fausto is among the founders of the Italian Gemological Institute (IGI) and provides the first master-stones for diamond certification. He is admitted to the Antwerp Diamond Bourse, a symbol of international authority.

1980s

THE PEARLS

In the 1980s, the Broggian family became the official partner for Italy of Mikimoto, a world pioneer of cultured pearls. This relationship was a turning point: an aesthetic and cultural affinity with the world of pearls was born, which would lead to the birth of a new language in jewelry.

1990s

Since the 90s, the Broggian family has been creating and
develops the Compagnia delle Perle, a line of high-end pearl jewelry made entirely in Italy, which represents the top of the range in the sector.
Better known as Collezione Milano, it is an example of artisanal excellence, selective quality and creative vision.

This project marks a fundamental stage in the creative journey of the Broggian family, paving the way for a new idea of jewelry: authentic, elegant, essential.

The Birth of MIMÍ

Pearls, color, design. From Milan, a new
language in the jewel

In 2000, MIMÍ was officially founded, a brand that embodies the modern spirit of the Broggian family. MIMÍ is contemporary jewellery, crafted from extraordinary pearls, bold colour combinations, and refined design. A feminine, Milanese aesthetic—wearable and instantly recognisable.

In 2010, the brand celebrated its first decade with the publication of the book “10 Years MIMI”, a visual and narrative collection of its unmistakable style.

Meanwhile, the Broggian family also became the exclusive distributor in Italy and Malta for the French brand Chaumet, one of the most prestigious names in European fine jewellery and watchmaking.

2010–2018: MIMÍ AROUND THE WORLD

The brand’s international presence continues to grow. The MIMÍ boutique opens on Via Gesù in Milan, marking the brand’s debut on one of the world’s most iconic luxury streets. This is followed by new strategic openings: the prestigious Ginza Six in Tokyo, the Tsum department store in Moscow, and the Dlt location in Saint Petersburg.

Meanwhile, the brand consistently takes part in leading international exhibitions such as Baselworld, Couture in Las Vegas, Doha Exhibition, and Bahrain Jewellery, further strengthening its global visibility.

MIMÍ also exhibits at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum (2015) and the Triennale di Milano (2016), events that celebrate the excellence of Italian craftsmanship and the art of Italian goldsmithing.

Since 2018, MIMÍ has been present in over 40 countries worldwide.

Today, the brand is guided by
Marco and Ilaria Broggian, the second generation of the family. Adopted Milanese, passionate about beauty, design, and culture, they carry forward their father’s values with a vision turned towards the future.
