The pearl of Polynesia
Tahitian pearls
The Tahitian pearl grows cultured in the Pinctada margaritifera, in the lagoons of French Polynesia, and carries with it the broadest colour range a dark pearl can offer: grey, green, aubergine, and the peacock overtones that light up according to the light. These are natural colours, the pearl's own.
MIMÍ chooses them directly in Polynesia, specimen by specimen, and composes the strands by knotting them by hand on silk thread. Each strand carries an individual code, because the pairing of colours remains unrepeatable.
